MUD Jeans may well be the world’s most pioneering circular denim brand. Their mission? To make new jeans from old ones. Worn-out pairs are saved from landfills and incineration, carefully stripped of rivets, buttons, and zippers. Then they’re shredded, cleaned, and spun into new yarn. The result: fresh, circular denim in a true closed loop.
And that’s not all. Once your jeans have received all the love you can give them, you don’t need to throw them away. Hand them in with MUD for a discount on your next purchase – or try the revolutionary Lease A Jeans concept, which MUD launched as a world first back in 2013.
By using fabrics containing up to 47% post-consumer recycled cotton and production techniques that save water and energy, MUD is making huge strides. Water consumption is reduced by 90% and CO₂ emissions by nearly half (46.6%).
Water: Just 460 liters of water are needed to produce one pair of MUD Jeans – thanks to recycled cotton and innovative techniques, that’s a 90% water saving.
CO₂: Making a pair of jeans emits 3.5 kg of CO₂. Through renewable energy and efficient production, emissions are reduced by 46.6%.
Recycling: With their take-back program, old jeans containing at least 96% cotton are collected. Together with partners Recover and Tejidos Royo in Valencia, MUD turns them into new denim fabrics – with up to 40% post-consumer recycled cotton.
