Update on the Don’t Turn Your Back campaign
The “Don’t Turn Your Back” campaign is a collaboration between Cruyff and the Pro2 Foundation.
We cannot look away from what happened in Qatar with the Nepalese migrants. They had to work in appalling working conditions when building the soccer stadiums for the World Cup. That is why we have joined forces. Cruyff made the most beautiful and iconic shirt available for this campaign. The Pro2 foundation has the network and knowledge with respect to the situation in Nepal. At Up To Do Good we sold the t-shirt and all the proceeds were donated to the Pro2 foundation. It is an amount of EUR 18.000, we are so proud and grateful to be able to give this support.
In total, this campaign raised approximately EUR 90,000. With this donation, Foundation Pro2 can help the families of the workers who worked on the World Cup stadiums in Qatar. Together with the local organisation Return Migrant Nepal they create new opportunities.
Return Migrant Nepal motivates and supports these people to start their own businesses. The foundation helps with an investment and a starting salary with which they can support themselves for 2 years. By providing financial stability they will not be forced to seek their fortune abroad and work in miserable conditions.
