At The Knitwit Stable, every product starts with wool. Wool grown in the Dutch landscape, shaped by breed, season and surroundings. Every fibre has its own character and possibilities.
The Knitwit Stable researches Dutch wool, looking at qualities such as fibre fineness, selection and composition. From this knowledge, the team develops yarns, knitwear, blankets and other woollen products. From distinctive Dutch wool to refined blends with merino, alpaca and mohair.
On the farm in Baambrugge, material development, design and production come together. In its own knitting studio, The Knitwit Stable explores how Dutch wool can best express its qualities, creating small-scale collections from the fibre in the field to the knit on the skin.
Although the Netherlands is home to around 800,000 sheep, their wool is rarely turned into high-quality products. The Knitwit Stable aims to change this by giving Dutch wool new meaning and bringing it back into everyday life.
With respect for animals, landscape and material, The Knitwit Stable is building a more transparent and local way of producing — using natural fibres made to be worn and enjoyed for years to come.
