My Mask by Carole Baijings for Up To Do Good

Up To Do Good is a new brand that wishes to do good. Our mission is simple: offer long-lasting and environmentally friendly products that help create a greener and more balanced world. Esther Blaffert and Paulien de Vries, the initiators of Up To Do Good, the HAY stores and hayonlinkewinkel.com, have asked Carole Baijings to design the first products of their private label.

My Mask

For the designing of ‘My Mask’, Carole Baijings looked into the full spectrum of different skin colours. As a colourist, she studied how a mask – just like clothing – can accentuate your skin, hair and eyes. She felt that the five colours: Rose, Rust, Olive, Anthracite and Sky, best complemented these features. They’re also easy to mix & match with whatever you happen to be wearing.

‘My Mask’ is made up of GOTS certified satin cotton and elastic from a natural rubber and cotton mix. They’re produced in the Netherlands. The masks are sized from S to L to make sure they are perfectly shaped to your face and they can be washed at 60 degrees.

My Mask Mist

‘My Mask’ comes with ‘My Mask Mist’. A spray that Carole created in collaboration with an ‘aroma jockey’ in two different fragrances that protect you better against the virus.
“My Mask Mist’ is made up of organic essential oils with proven antibacterial and antiviral properties. By spraying the ‘My Mask Mist’ on the outside of your mask before wearing it, you will be better protected.

The fragrance ‘Sweet Citrus’ is an organic blend of lemongrass and citronella, that has a mood-enhancing and energizing effect. ‘Gentle Bloom’ contains lavender, damask rose and calamus and is relaxing and calming. The ‘Mist’ comes in sprayers of 30ML and 50ML, which makes it easy to carry them along. As long as you can smell the scent, it works! If not, spray again…

The ‘Colour Cotton Collection’ family will soon be expanded with ‘My Pouch’ and ‘My Tote’, that are made of the same cotton to match with ‘My Mask’. ‘My Tote’ is a colour box of sorts: if you look inside, you will see all the mask colours. The tote is reversible and thus super easy to match with any outfit!

The mission of Up To Do Good is to offer sustainable products, developed by top designers against affordable prices for a large public. The proceeds of the ‘Colour Cotton Collection’ will be donated to Human Rights Watch, which makes it a beautiful product any way you look at it.
