Wehlers – Furniture For Good

We are proud to showcase a new exhibit at UpToDoGood. Starting this week, you can discover Wehlers - Furniture For Good. A Danish design label that is totally committed to the best for the world and the environment. Wehlers' approach is making a significant difference in the furniture industry.

The chairs Wehlers creates are made from plastic waste from the ocean. Wehlers uses fishing nets, E-waste, FSC wood and other recycled materials to create the collection. The fact that the materials matter is amazing, but also the designs are great, all the characteristics of Danish design show through in this collection and everything is made with a focus on a circular economy.

Wehlers approach is clear and transparent:
Respect. Respect the ECO system.
Repair. Repair what is broken.
Re-use. Recycle furniture.
Re-Cycle. Reuse materials to make new furniture after use.
Remember. Be aware of this principle and together we can really make a difference.

We spoke with Henrik Holm, together with his wife Maria the founder of Wehlers. Henrik indicated that the world does not need more designer furniture, but that the approach they have taken, sustainable and circular, shows that sustainable consumption is really possible. Henrik is positive about the transition we need to make in order to eventually change the world. In his words, "Our place in history depends on the choices we make all the time."
